Make that Old Wooden Dresser Useful Again

When it comes to upcycling, there are many projects you can take on. Look around your home, take inventory of any old items, and ask yourself this question: can I make it useful again? If the answer is yes, you have a project on your hands.

Like many, you may have at least one old wooden dresser taking up space. If you don’t have a dresser the right size, it may be time to purchase one at a local estate sale for repurposing. And here is the reason why: it can make for a meaningful project that you can take pride in.

At first glance, you may believe it’s time to put the old dresser on the curb. It gave you many good years of service, but now it’s time for something new. Not so fast!

Why not turn the dresser into something that you can use for many years to come? Here are some ideas:

·      Turn a vintage dresser into a bathroom vanity. It will take some refinishing and retrofitting, but once the project is done you will be happy with the end result. Not only will the dresser look good in your bathroom, but it saved you a lot of money on the cost of a new vanity.

·      A television stand. Do you need somewhere to set your new flat screen TV? If so, an older dresser can be transformed into a stand that makes you smile.

·      A storage bench. A dresser is only a dresser if you call it that. With the right approach, you can transform it into a storage bench for an entry way, living room, or any other space in your home.
