Meet the Owner

Four Sales, Ltd. was founded by four enterprising Northern Virginia women in 1972. The logo of the company is a silhouette of four gals in royal blue with a bright yellow color background. Four Sales' distinctive blue and yellow "Estate Sale 9-3" signs can be seen weekly in Northern Virginia, DC and Maryland.

In 2006, Nancy Meigs and Karen Waterval ("the ladies") decided that they wanted to spend more time with their grandchildren and spouses and are enjoying life to the fullest. Although they continue to be involved, they have turned over daily operations to Daniel Sanders. Daniel is committed to keeping the level of professionalism, energy, and integrity for which the company is known.

Daniel Sanders brings more than 15 years international business operations experience to Four Sales Ltd. In the 1990's, he ran a 32-country business for Minnesota, Mining and Manufacturing (3M) in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Since returning to the United States, Daniel has worked with start-up businesses in the United States and Canada to attract investors and accelerate business growth to realize their sales objectives. Daniel's expertise in improving operations, sales, marketing and brand management have given him a very large network of supporters and contacts in the local area, as well as throughout the United States. He is also a member of Potomac ExecutiveBiz, a member of the United Professional Sales Association (UPSA), the former President of Business Network International's Alexandria Chapter, a member of the Irish Angels Venture Capital organization, Potomac ExecutiveBiz, Boston University Alumni Association, TipClub, and annually a judge of the University of Notre Dame's McCloskey Business Plan Competition.

Daniel is responsible for all day-to-day operations of the company including sales, marketing, advertising, accounting, logistics, and client relations.

Daniel has his Masters of Science in Management and International Marketing from Boston University and an undergraduate degree in economics from Drew University in Madison, New Jersey. He lives in Alexandria with his wife Karen (a four-generation native of DC), and 2 daughters.

Nancy Z. (Bergman) Meigs and Karen E. Waterval are two of the original founders of the company and presently serve on the company's board of advisors. They have over 33 years of combined business savvy and experience in the estate sales industry and were "hands on" during all sales that they conducted and presented. Both ladies are natives of the Falls Church area and have lived there with their families since the 1960's. Nancy and Karen are both Associate Members of the International Society of Appraisers and zealous researchers in estate sales. They have always had a keen interest in studying the fair market value of estate contents.

The Board of Advisors is an integral part of the company's structure and on-going success. In fact, Daniel Sanders consults with Nancy Meigs on almost a daily basis to ensure that the company is being run to the Four Sales standard of performance, enthusiasm, and integrity. When The new owners are lucky, Nancy still puts on an apron and works with us at a sale!
