Answer these Questions before Making an Estate Sale Purchase

Are you excited about visiting a few estate sales in the near future? Are you ready to shop for everything from furniture to jewelry and much more? Are you curious to see someone else’s home and how they furnished or decorated it? If you answered yes to these questions, you are sure to have the time of your life.

Just the same as shopping at a local store, you will be faced with decisions along the way. Most importantly, you must decide what to purchase and what to pass by.

By answering these questions before making a purchase, you can ensure that you are 100 percent committed in your decision to move forward:

1. Are you okay with the quality of the item? Remember, most of the items for sale have been “broken in” by somebody else. That being said, this won’t always impact the overall quality.

For example, there are steps you can take to determine if furniture is of high quality. If you like what you find, making a purchase becomes much easier.

2. Is the price fair? The more estate sales you attend, especially those managed by a reputable company, the more you will realize this to be true: the pricing is typically dead on. Even so, you owe it to yourself to compare numbers to make sure you are comfortable with the price.

3. Is it something you have been searching for? If the answer is yes, don’t hesitate to pull the trigger. Remember, you aren’t the only person shopping the estate sale. The longer you wait the more chance there is that somebody will swoop in and “steal” the item out from under your nose.

When you answer these questions before making an estate sale purchase, you will know for sure you are making the right choice.
