Everyone Should Have These Tools in Their Shed

In our last blog post, we discussed the importance of regularly cleaning out your storage shed. While there are many benefits of doing so, there’s something you need to remember: a shed is meant for storage.

And when it comes to storage, there are some tools that every shed should have. These include but are not necessarily limited to:

•    Shovel

•    Rake

•    Spade

•    Lawn mower

•    String trimmer

•    Wheelbarrow

•    Leaf blower

•    Pruning shears

•    Loppers

If you have all these tools in your shed, you’re in good shape. You have everything – or almost everything – you need to tackle any job in your yard or garden.

Conversely, if you’re in the market for one or more of these tools, you have a couple options.

While buying new, in store or online, is always an option, don’t overlook the benefits of buying secondhand. For example, you can find all these tools, among others, at local estate sales and garage sales.

When buying a secondhand tool, pay attention to things such as:

•    Manufacturer

•    Condition

•    Damage and defects

•    Reviews

And of course, you should check to make sure it works before making a purchase.

As you clean your shed, make note of what you do and don’t have. If you’re coming up short in the tool department, it may be time to make a few purchases.
