3 Overlooked Tips for Estate Sale Shoppers

You can visit as many estate sales as you want, but unless you know what you are doing you may continually come up short.

What exactly does that mean? What do I need to know?

Remember, shopping at an estate sale is not the same as shopping at a local mall. There are things you should do, things you should avoid, and steps you can take to improve your chance of getting exactly what you want (at a price you can afford).

Here are three often overlooked tips for estate sale shoppers:

1. The early bird gets the worm. It is not uncommon for shoppers to line up an hour or so before an estate sale begins. If you sleep in, there is a good chance a rush of people will beat you to the sale. But don’t worry! Most in-house sales presented by reputable estate sales companies offer enough quantity and variety of inventory that you will certainly find a treasure for your home or collection!

2. Know how you will get it home. An estate sale is a great place to upgrade or replace your dining room, bedroom, or living room! If you decide to buy a large item there is always a way to get it home. Ask the estate sale company if they can offer a recommendation for a good small job local mover.

3. No two estate sales are created equal. For example, you may avoid estate sales in one community because you had a bad experience there in the past. This is a mistake. Every sale is unique. You owe it to yourself to check out each and every one that fits into your schedule.
