4 Power Tools to Buy Used (Maybe at an Estate Sale)

Do you have all the power tools you need? Have you come to find that you can never have too many of these?

If you’re looking to add to your collection, there is more than one way of doing so. Rather than drive to your local big box tool store and make a purchase, check out a few estate sales in your area. You may be surprised at what you find in regards to selection and price.

Here are four power tools you should consider buying used:

·      Cordless drill. The most common power tool available, you know you’ll use this time and time again. There are many makes and models to choose from, with brands like Ryobi, Bosch, and DEWALT among the best.

·      Reciprocating saw. It’s not a tool you’ll use every day (unless you work in construction), but it can come in handy when cutting through most types of wood.

·      Oscillating tool. A DIY favorite, this tool can take on a variety of jobs. From cutting wood to sanding and grinding, you’ll never wonder if your tool can complete the job. While the Dremel name is most popular, don’t overlook oscillating tools by Milwaukee and Bosch.

·      Circular saw. If you find yourself cutting wood often, you don’t want to rely on a handsaw. Not only does a handsaw slow you down, but it’s not nearly as accurate. Fortunately, a high quality circular saw can solve all your problems.

If you find yourself in the market for one or more of these tools, be sure to shop a few estate sales before giving in and buying a new model.
