Are You a Hot Wheels Collector?

As a young child, there was nothing more enjoyable than sitting down and playing with your Hot Wheels for hours on end.

Even though things change as you get older, it doesn’t mean you have to put your love of Hot Wheels in the past forever.

First offered to the public by Mattel Inc. in 1968, Hot Wheels remain a popular collectible in today’s day and age. With more than three billion of these produced over the past 50 years, it goes without saying that you won’t have a hard time finding a few cars to add to your collection.

Note: there are more than 800 models and 11,000 variations of Hot Wheels, meaning that there’s always another one to search for.

What Should You Collect?

When it comes to Hot Wheels, there is no right or wrong answer as to what you should collect.

Some people don’t care what they add to their collection, as long as it’s something new. Others, however, search for the most valuable cars, which include:

·      Limited-run special cars

·      Upgraded versions of mainline cars

·      HWC/RLC Exclusives

·      Premium cars, such as those that touch on pop culture

·      Retailer Exclusives

You can purchase new Hot Wheels in local stores and online, but if you want to dig up a hidden gem you need to expand your horizon. Estate sales, garage sales, and flea markets are all a great place to start.
