With 2016 coming to an end, it’s time to turn your attention to the new year. This means something different to everyone, but for many it means planning an estate sale.

First things first, make up your mind as to why you’re interested in an estate sale.

Are you looking to downsize?

Are you in the process of buying all new furniture (and other items) for your home?

Once you have a clear idea as to why an estate sale is the right decision, it’s time to move on. At this point, you need to answer the following questions:

·      What items do you want to sell? What items will you keep?

·      What types of goals do you hope to accomplish by having an estate sale?

·      What is your time frame for the event?

These aren’t the only questions to answer, but they will definitely put you on the right path to making an informed decision.

Since a well run estate sale takes some planning, it’s imperative to think ahead. If you want to hold your event in January 2017, for instance, you need to get all your ducks in a row by the end of 2016 (at the latest).
